Couldn’t stop highlighting this piece. I’ve wondered about male tendencies to listen to or read primarily from men, and some of these stats were even worse than I imagined. Men listening to men 94.2% of the time is pretty egregious. Wrote about gendered preferences and overcoming internalized sexism in my own music tastes here.

In four years of high school, we only had 2 books written by women as part of our assigned reading, out of 25+ books. (Even worse, the only author of color was Malcolm Gladwell). I didn't even think about this breakdown until college.
